August 15, 2025 — Cleveland, OH:

Former Texas Longhorns wide receiver Isaiah Bond has been cleared of all sexual assault charges and says he’s preparing to join the Cleveland Browns — marking a dramatic turn in a year that nearly derailed his NFL dreams.

Grand Jury Declines to Indict

On Thursday, the Collin County (Texas) District Attorney’s Office announced that a grand jury issued a “no bill” in Bond’s sexual assault case, meaning no indictment will be filed.

"After reviewing all the evidence presented, the grand jury returned a no bill… This concludes the criminal proceedings in this matter," District Attorney Greg Willis said.

Bond was arrested in April after an arrest warrant was issued by Frisco Police. He turned himself in on April 10, posted a $25,000 bond, and immediately denied the allegations.

“I Stand Firm in My Innocence”

Following the legal decision, Bond shared a statement on social media:

> “I am grateful for the decision of the prosecutor and the courts not to pursue charges. I will learn from this experience as I grow in wisdom, character, and faith. From the very beginning, I have maintained my innocence, and I stand firm in that today.”

In the same statement, Bond revealed the Browns are giving him the opportunity to continue his NFL career, though multiple sources — including ESPN’s Adam Schefter — report no official contract has been finalized yet.

NFL Career Put on Hold

Bond entered the 2025 NFL Draft as a highly regarded prospect — ranked No. 201 on Dane Brugler’s draft big board and projected as a Day 2 pick. However, the allegations led to him going undrafted.

Career Stats:

Texas (2024): 34 receptions, 540 yards, 5 TDs in 14 games

Alabama (2022–2023): 65 receptions, 888 yards, 5 TDs

Bond transferred to Texas following Nick Saban’s retirement from Alabama, quickly becoming a key part of the Longhorns offense.

Civil Case Details

In addition to the criminal case, Bond filed a federal complaint against his accuser, alleging that the sexual encounter was consensual and that he was later threatened with extortion. The lawsuit claimed the woman demanded $5,000 before going to police. That case was dismissed with prejudice last month, ending all legal proceedings.

What’s Next for Bond and the Browns?

The Browns have not publicly confirmed a signing, but Bond’s speed, agility, and deep-threat ability could provide valuable depth to Cleveland’s receiving corps ahead of the 2025 season.

If the deal goes through, Bond’s story could become one of the NFL’s most remarkable comeback narratives of the year.
